Quickstart
For owners and managers. About 10 minutes to a published first week for a small, single-location shop.
Create your account
Head to Sign up and enter your business name, email, and a password (12+ characters). Your business is created from that name — you can rename it later in Settings. We'll email you a verification link; click it to confirm your address and land in the app.Add your first location
Open Settings → Locationsand add the place your team works (e.g. “Main St. Café”). You need at least one location before you can create shifts.Add roles (optional)
In Settings → Roles, add the jobs people work — Barista, Cook, Shift Lead. Roles make the schedule readable at a glance. (Custom role colors are a Team-plan touch; on Free, roles still work, they're just uncolored.)Invite your team
Go to Team → Invite a teammate, enter each person's email and pick a role (employee or manager). They get an email invite; accepting it creates their account and adds them to your business.Build the first week
Open Schedule, pick your location and week, then click an empty cell to add a shift (person, role, time, notes). Drag a shift to reassign it, or drop it on the Openrow to leave it unfilled for anyone to claim. Daypart flags conflicts and shifts that fall outside someone's availability as you go.Publish the week
When it looks right, hit Publish. Draft shifts go live, everyone you scheduled gets notified, and any unassigned shifts become Open Shifts your crew can claim.
That's the whole loop
Create shifts → publish → your team sees them, claims open shifts, and requests swaps or time off. You only build; Daypart handles the “who's working / who's available / what changed” part.
What your team does next
Once you publish, point your crew at the For your teamguide. They'll set their availability, see their shifts, claim open ones, and request swaps or time off.
Good to know
- Free covers a 5-person, single-location shop — schedule, open shifts, availability, and notifications, forever. Shift swaps and time-off approvals come with Team.
- On phones, the web app works great — open it in your browser or use “Add to Home Screen.” Native mobile apps are on the way.
- Forgot your password? Use reset password from the sign-in screen.
